Yiannis Papadopoulos is a multi-awarded guitarist/composer/solo artist from Athens, Greece. Growing up in a family of musicians he started playing guitar in the age of 4 and he holds a Degree with honors in guitar, harmony and counterpoint.
Yiannis is the lead guitarist of the rock idol Scott Stapp (Creed) and they are touring successfully in the US and around the world. Over the years he has worked as a session musician with several famous national bands and artists and has has recorded in the cds of international artists like George Kollias, I legion more.
Yiannis has won numerous worldwide Guitar contests: The Andy James Guitar Academy Dream Rig competition - winner out of 536 contestants, the Ibanez Guitar Solo Competition 2013 - Winner out of 311 contestants, the Guitar on Sky Shredding contest, the Aeon Zen & Sabre Guitars "Solo This!" Competition. He got the 2nd place in the 8th live4guitar Guitar Competition, the 4th place in the Neung Vinai Alive GuitarSolo Competition and the 5th place in the Power of Strings Guitar Solo Contest and he was one of the Guitar Idol 4 Live Finalists (out of more than 460 contestants).
He proudly endorses PRS Guitars, Mesa Boogie amps, Strymon pedals, Spectraflex cables, D'addario strings, Intune Guitar Picks, Peterson Tuners, Gruv Gear, 64 Audio and Audio Technica. Moreover, he is a respected clinician representing PRS guitars since 2012.
Yiannis has worked with Licklibrary for a series of videos, and in May 2015 he published his first 20 licks package with the prestigious Jamtrackcentral. In March 2014 he published his first book regarding technique, called "The Electric Guitar Technique Workout"and in 2018 he will release his first guitar instrumental CD.
At present, when he's not touring, he divides his time between composing and recording songs for his personal instrumental cd and other side projects and takes part in music trade shows. He also teaches in clinics/masterclasses and via Skype teaching students from all over the world.
